By creating an account, joining a society/property, or using the Flatment mobile app or website (flatment.com, including flatment.com/find), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use Flatment.
Flatment is a record-keeping and communication platform for housing societies, PGs/hostels, and co-living spaces. It helps committees and residents track maintenance billing, complaints, announcements, community chat, facility bookings, and related information.
Flatment is not a payment processor. We do not collect, hold, transmit, or guarantee any payment of money between users. Features such as "maintenance dues," "I've Paid This," and similar tools are record-keeping aids only:
All actual payments between residents, tenants, and committees occur outside the Flatment platform (cash, bank transfer, UPI, or other means chosen by the parties involved). Flatment is not responsible for verifying, guaranteeing, or resolving disputes about whether a payment was actually made.
Corpus fund balances, fixed deposit details, expense records, and similar financial information displayed in Flatment are entered by your society's admin, committee members, or residents. This data is not verified, audited, or guaranteed accurate by Flatment. It should not be treated as an official, audited financial statement. Societies remain responsible for maintaining their own accurate financial records through appropriate channels (including statutory audits where legally required).
Flatment uses AI (including Anthropic's Claude) to power features such as the AI assistant, AI-generated monthly newsletters, annual reports, and receipt-scanning. AI-generated content is labeled as such within the app.
You are responsible for the content you post, including FlatChat messages, community posts, cab pool listings, and messages in suburb-level chat rooms on flatment.com/find.
You agree not to post content that is:
Reporting and moderation: Admins/committee members can remove content within their own society's chat. Flatment reserves the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including in the public suburb chat rooms on flatment.com/find. To report content, contact us at support@flatment.com.
The suburb-level chat rooms on flatment.com/find are publicly readable, including by users who have not signed in. Anyone signing in to participate (via Google Sign-In) should understand that their name, profile photo, and messages will be visible to all visitors of that chat room. Do not share sensitive personal information (financial details, exact home address, identification numbers) in these public chat rooms.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Flatment. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account access and for all activity under your account.
Society admins, committee members (President, Treasurer, Vice President), and residents have different levels of access within the app, as configured by your society. Flatment is not responsible for disputes between residents, tenants, owners, or committee members regarding the proper exercise of these roles, governance decisions, or financial matters — these remain the responsibility of your society/property under its own governing rules and applicable law.
Flatment is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Flatment and its operators shall not be liable for:
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Flatment after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
